Moms and Babies First
Are you or someone you know a Butler County resident, African American and pregnant? Call us at 513-887-5249 for more information about the program and to see if you're eligible.
Originally called High Hopes, our infant vitality program has been working with moms and families since 2013. Our program has witnessed the births of numerous beautiful babies born to African American mothers and fathers who may be experiencing high-risk pregnancies.
Achieve optimal pregnancy outcomes and help ensure children thrive throughout the first year of life by:
- Decreasing African American maternal and infant mortality
- Improving African American maternal, infant, and family health
- Reducing health disparities in the African American community
Although infant mortality has decreased as a whole in Butler County, there still remains a significant difference in birth outcomes by race and ethnicity. Despite efforts to improve health, the non-Hispanic black IMR is approximately three times higher than the non-Hispanic white IMR.
